New Delhi: A United Nations official on Saturday expressed deep concern concerning the detention of activist Teesta Setalvad by the Gujarat Police. Mary Lawlor, the United Nations particular rapporteur took to Twitter on Sunday to sentence the detention of activist-journalist Teesta Setalvad (now arrested) by the Crime Department, Ahmedabad. Setalvad was detained by the Crime Department in Mumbai on Saturday and brought to Ahmedabad later that evening. Earlier, former IPS officer RB Sreekumar was additionally arrested. The arrests come days after the Supreme Courtroom had dismissed a petition difficult the clear chit given by the SIT to then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi and others within the 2002 post-Godhra riots instances.
