Lahore, Jul 13 (PTI): Two members of Hafiz Saeed’s Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD), who had been coming back from a mosque after providing their Eid al-Adha prayers, had been allegedly shot lifeless by members of a rival organisation in Pakistan’s Punjab province.
The incident came about on Sunday in Jaranwala Chak 97 district in Faisalabad, which is located 130 kms from Lahore.
Rashid Ali and his good friend Shahid Farooq, who belonged to JuD, had been popping out of the mosque of Ahl-i-Hadith after providing their Eid al-Adha prayers (on Sunday), when suspects Asharaf Kashi, Jamil and two others intercepted them and opened fireplace at Rashid Ali, police stated.
Additionally they shot Farooq when he got here to Ali’s rescue. Each died on the spot, they stated.
Asif Ali, Rashid’s brother, informed the police that he was a witness to the brutal killing.
