New Delhi: To dam the import of products linked to pressured labour in China, Uyghur Compelled Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) took impact on Tuesday in the USA. Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken, declared in an announcement, “Beginning at this time, U.S. Customs and Border Safety (CBP) will start to implement the Uyghur Compelled Labor Prevention Act’s provisions to ban imports made by pressured labor into the USA of merchandise made in Xinjiang.”

US President Joe Biden signed a invoice in December that goals to punish China for human rights abuses in opposition to ethnic and spiritual minorities, together with Uyghurs, in China’s Xinjiang area.

“The State Division is dedicated to working with Congress and our interagency companions to proceed combating pressured labour in Xinjiang and strengthen worldwide coordination in opposition to this egregious violation of human rights. Addressing pressured labour and different human rights abuses within the Individuals’s Republic of China (PRC) and all over the world is a precedence for President Biden and this Administration,” mentioned Blinken.

The invoice, known as the Uyghurs Compelled labour Prevention Act, is the newest effort by the US to punish China for its alleged mistreatment of tens of millions of Uyghurs and different Muslim minorities in Xinjiang. The report mentioned the US accused China of committing genocide in opposition to Uighurs.

Nevertheless, China’s ruling Communist Celebration has vehemently denied all experiences associated to human rights violations and genocide in Xinjiang.

Wang Wenbin, the Chinese language International Ministry spokesperson, mentioned the entire subject of “pressured labour in Xinjiang” is a large lie concocted by anti-China forces to smear China.
